Kato for Gearing

UK rental company Gearing Plant Hire has taken delivery of a 13 tonne Kato CR-130Ri city type All Terrain crane.

The CR-130Ri features a 24 metre, six section boom with a two stage, 3.6 to 5.5 metre hydraulic luffing jib. The crane was delivered by Kato's European distributor Rivertek Services.

Managing director Darren Gearing said: “I am delighted with this new addition, the Kato city crane is a fantastic reliable crane. It is ideal for tight jobs and with a 24 metre boom on such a compact chassis it can get right up against its work. We specialise in the jobs that nobody else can do and this crane adds to our range of services.”

Ivan Bolster of Rivertek Services added: “We are seeing a continuous focus from new and established crane hire companies towards adding versatile city cranes to their fleet. With low investment and running costs coupled with a high rates of return these cranes are adding value both on work sites and on the books.”

Based in Worthing, East Sussex, Gearing Plant Hire runs a fleet of All Terrain cranes, telehandlers and excavators.

Meanwhile, Rivertek has produced a short video to mark the move of Vertikal Days from Haydock to Silverstone this year, which can be viewed here.
