Kato for Coppard Plant

UK rental company Coppard Plant Hire has taken delivery of a 13 tonne Kato CR-130Ri city-type All Terrain crane.

The CR-130Ri features a 24 metre, six section boom with a two stage, 3.6 to 5.5 metre hydraulic luffing jib. The crane was delivered by Kato's European distributor Rivertek Services.

Coppard Plant Hire director Keaten Coppard said: “We have been in the plant hire business for nearly 50 years and are continually looking to add to our range of plant. The Kato city crane is a natural progression for our crane fleet with its 24 metre main boom and 5.5 metre fly jib, not to mention outrigger length sensors for variable outrigger situations. It’s a brand famous for its reliability and we pride ourselves on having the best equipment on the market for our loyal customers.”

Rivertek operations manager Ivan Bolster added: “We have seen a strong increase in interest from spider crane hire companies in the Kato city crane but especially the CR-130Ri. It fits easily into a spider crane hire fleet and because it is self-propelled there is no requirement to truck it from job to job like a spider crane so it cuts down on costs, it is also a very compact and versatile crane.”

Coppard runs a fleet of over 50 spider cranes, pick & carry cranes, tower cranes and crawler cranes alongside a range of other equipment, including excavators, concrete and road equipment from four locations.
